b'Publishers LetterMeet the 2023 IMARA Man HonoreesThis is IMARA Woman Magazines annual edition that pays tribute to men in South Carolina who are empowering our community. It is always one of my favorite editions highlighting IMARA (powerful) men for their dedicated service and professionalism. We have annually recognized IMARA Man Honorees for more than a decade, and we are proud once again to share the stories of four amazing African American men. It is our privilege to celebrate their vision and accomplishments and to let them know we are grateful for their leadership. I am pleased to announce the 2023 IMARA Man Honorees. Issac Bailey is an award-winning journalist who challenges us with his editorials that speak the truth about political, racial and social biases in America. (page 8)Dr. Dwaun Warmack is the President of Claflin University. He is continuing Claflins tradition of educational excellence while also charting new initiatives to expand opportunities for residents in the greater Orangeburg community. (page 11)Victor Major is the Grand Master of the Prince Hall Masons Grand Lodge of SC.Hes determined to ensure that masons remain engaged in their communities providing help to those who are most in need. (page 14)And finally, The Honorable Paul Brawley is the elected Auditor for Richland County. He fought against all odds to become the first African American elected to one of the countys seven countywide offices and is serving with integrity and excellence. (page16)Another one my favorite annual tributes is IMARAs profiles of SCs HBCU Campus Queens. (page 18) Their beauty is second only to their intellect and ambition.
